Altice Hires New Exec to Run Company’s Wireless Unit

While Altice recently struck a deal with Sprint to provide wireless service using the Sprint network, the company this week stated that the company’s US users (Suddenlink, Optimum) won’t actually see the service go live until sometime in 2019. Last November Altice stated that, like Comcast and Charter, it would be building a WiFi centric wireless service that leans heavily on existing cellular networks for backup. That service would then be bundled with the company’s existing slate of broadband, video and voice offerings in an attempt to upsell users to more services and boost revenues.
